This is a working cover for a DIY zine I've been making for the last few months. It's hopefully going to include how-to guides to clothing alteration, personal care, dumpster diving, sneaking around and other fun stuff!

Beautiful. The line you used is very deliberate and economical. Almost like Matisse or something - is it a tracing? We'll purchase your zine when it's done... or trade patches, stickers and our hopelessly outdated info packet for it. we're trying to get together a how-to zine, but we're moving very slow (or maybe not at all). you're welcome to get involved if you like, though I definitely don't want to pull you away from your project. Cool!!
Welcome to our website by the way!
that's a pretty ballin' cover. i'll def pick one up when it's done or whatever.
as nick said, welcome, i'm matt. how are you?
you all are too kind. I'm pretty spectacular right now, I've just gotten back from a night of mischief.
Nick,
I would love to be involved in whatever projects I can with you guys, especially DIY stuff. I've been looking for people all over to network with and I'll be traveling a lot this summer, so it'll be better knowing people along the way.
Thanks again for the warm welcome! I hope we can be friends.
(oh and to answer your question, nah, it wasnt a tracing, but I did look at a picture for it. That's my friend Spencer working on a back patch to put on his jacket. The fabric was left over from the canvas we bought to make anarcho-sydicalist flags for the DC protest on January 27th. Cool, huh? I love this kind of thing.)
i'm so happy to see a new person on the site, especially somebody who's working on all these projects. The zine sounds really cool, and i like yr artwork. Like nick said, we're trying to do a similar kind of zine. The idea is that you have to learn/do something new, and write/draw/etc about yr experience in a way that's both a sort of how to and a personal story. So the zine would show both the knowledge that people learned, and also the process of them gaining that knowledge. I plan to contribute a piece on how i'm starting a vegetable garden right now, which is totally new to me. Anyway i guess there are other threads that are devoted to this subject.
Do you do a lot of visual art stuff? I'd be excited to have another person who does all that. I've done a lot of drawing/painting/design/collage/etc, but all that has been on the back burner lately.

ps what is H=F?
H=F means Hesitation Equals Failure. Never be afraid to do something, ya know? It's just a sort of mantra I live by. It gets you in a little trouble but hey, how else are you gonna get stuff done?
