so coming home from my friends house last night i got a speeding ticket for going 88 on a 55. needless to say its my first ticket and i was pretty freaked out. i couldnt even get to sleep last night and it made me think, if i got this freaked out over a ticket, how would i react to a line of riot cops coming at me with clubs?

oh, and p.s. i just got a survey emailed to me from my school asking me all these questions about myself so they can "relay the type of person you are to the admission committee at colleges and universities to which you apply". i'm trying to decide whether i should just not do it, or if i should fill it out with cynical answers that wouldnt help them at all.

That sucks

I've never gotten a speeding ticket (never drove a car), but I've gotten summons' for drinking on the street and been arrested and stuff (a long long time ago, I was a 12-year-old small-time drug dealer). cops are intimidating, but I think driving freaks me out more.

Anyway, didn't your mom decide to look into "alternatives" to college? I would just ignore those questions... you shouldn't burn bridges by sending them something you might regret, and you don't wanna go, so just ignore it and it'll go away. and I wouldn't trust people who want your personality on file. They're probably looking to make sure you're an obedient, pleasant, over-achieving jock. Plus, from what I hear, sometimes that stuff ends up in the hands of the military recruiters.

.

Yeah it has freaked me out the times I've been in a car that's gotten pulled over (always for speeding.) And I don't even drive.

With that form, I'd just ignore it. Why can't students show who they are in their admissions essay or whatever? No reason for the school to be a middle-man there. (That's even if you wanted to go to college.)
