I'm trying to start a garden, but the only place I have is right under a couple big oak trees! Does anyone know if there's any vegetables that thrive in shade?

my only sunshine...

unfortunately most popular vegetables like tomatos, peas, and squash prefer full sun to ripen. However greens like spinach and kale do well with part shade, as well as some herbs like parsley and cilantro. Lots of flowers grow in part shade, but not many vegetables.

Thanks for the advice. I

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to try spinach and kale, then some herbs and stuff. I found a site that says strawberries and blackberries do well in shade as well- and they're pretty low maintenance, I remember my mom trying to get rid of them at one point, and failing miserably.
