This past week, Misled Youth had the exciting opportunity to introduce a group of dedicated Queens high school students to several printmaking techniques, and to support them in designing and screenprinting their own original artwork. This collaboration was part of Rensizzle week, a special week long program at The Renaissance School where the students broke down into 23 different clusters where they could each focus on exploring a topic of their choice. Two members of Misled Youth visited the students (and their awesome teacher, Nicholas) in the classroom early in the week for a full-day workshop preparing the students to design and print their artwork. Several days later, the student visited us at the 123 Printshop to make their designs a reality! Everyone learned and had fun, and we’re looking forward to doing more projects with The Renaissance School in the future!
More PIY pics coming soon! Also, check out this great PIY wiki the students are creating.
