So your doctor's prescribed you an SSRI. It could be fluoxetine (Prozac) or whatever. Look it up and see if it's an SSRI. If it is, you should really be aware of the effects.

If you were prescribed this medication, I'd be willing to bet your doctor also told you that you shouldn't take anything else with it. No drinking, pot smoking, anything.

That's a GREAT warning, that few realize is serious. There was more than once when I was taking Prozac when I woke up and had no clue what I'd done, where I'd been, and someone had to inform me of what I'd done the previous night.

So, just a word of caution to anyone who's just now starting them. Oh yeah, they work wonders for some people. Just don't take anything else with them, because it could do funny things to your wittle bwain.

One screwy thing about SSRIs

One screwy thing about SSRIs is that they sometimes make youth feel hostile and suicidal. I was briefly on Paxil, and it gave me gory nightmares. I'm not saying they're bad for everyone, just that young people in particular have trouble with them.
