another thing we talked about was how most members of YELL are high school seniors this year, and there is a concern that once they graduate, there may not be be enough momentum going to keep YELL going with the younger students.
One idea that i had (which may be difficult to set up)is to set up YELL "internships" with the younger students. Sympathetic teachers could be convinced that this is peer-to -peer collaborative education, and that the younger students deserve credit for helping to organizing the conference, creating materials, etc. That way they'll be learning the important organizing skills they'll need to keep YELL alive.
Does this seem realistic? Are there other ways of "passing on the torch"?
